inner peace sculpture
call me crazy, but i love this sculpture. it serves as a reminder to find inner peace. it also reminds me of the importance of womanhood. the womans hands look as if they are cradling her womb. isn't it wonderful that women are able to bring new life into this world?
sculpture comes from gaiam and is currently on sale!

winter at sundance
i've been teaching yoga at sundance since august. during the summer, when the weather is warmer, the classes are held on an outdoor theater stage...it's beautiful! during the colder seasons we've been holding them in a yurt and also in the tree room library. anyway, the point of this post was to let you know how absolutely gorgeous it is up there! the snow falls down thick and some of the snow piles are as high as my neck! anyway, i snapped this photo after my class. pretty huh?

cat and cow
these are two of my favorite poses. the first time i practiced these was in david morgans class at byu. the top is the cow pose and the bottom is cat pose. i like to move from one pose to the other. begin in a table top position, arms are shoulder width apart and make sure your knees are directly inline with your hips. inhale as you move into the cat pose and exhale while you go into the cow pose. this little sequence is great for back pain.

a few facts...
i have been terrible at keeping my yoga blog up, and now that school things are about to settle down, i am determined to do much better.
a few facts...
- i'm 22 years old
- i'm married to a guy who always makes me want to be a better person.
- i'm a music dance theater major getting ready to graduate, hopefully by august; if not, for sure by next December.
- the first yoga class i took was at byu, and i received tma (theater media arts) credit for it!
-i certified two years later and am now teaching!
-keeping up my personal practice isn't always easy, but i am now discovering how absolutely necessary it is!
-i recently purchased a new yoga mat, because my other one got super dirty from taking it outside all the time. my new one is a light blue, and i love it!
- being a former gymnast and current dance major, i am really into fitness. the hardest thing is making the time each and every day to exercise, but we can do it!
through this blog, i will record my thoughts on yoga down for everyone to see. i will also share my yoga knowledge, and all things yoga that i love. thanks for reading! see you soon!
